What We Do

PUBLIC TRAINING PROGRAMS

These are generic short duration legal programs of topical interest on specific areas of law for a cross section of industries and sectors. These programs cover basic principles and intent of the law together with practical case studies in the interpretation and implementation of the law. ​

IN-HOUSE TRAINING PROGRAMS

These are customized legal training programs developed for corporate entities both in the public and private sector to meet their specific needs.

CONTINUOUS LEGAL EDUCATION

These programs advance participants’ knowledge in emerging fields of law. They are aimed at professionals in Oman and the region and are delivered by experts from major regional and internationally-accredited institutions.

LEGAL ENGLISH FOR PROFESSIONALS (LE)

Legal English  course of 4 months  lead to the internationally-recognized Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES) certification. TOLES is conducted by Global Legal English, a UK-based entity. This is a long duration merit-based intensive certification course.

PROFICIENCY IN LEGAL PRACTICE (PLP)

This is a 3 month practical course for young law graduates and trainee lawyers to induct them into the practice of the legal profession. It provides a bridge between academics and practice.

PUBLIC OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Public Seminars are delivered as part of a series of programs that focus on the latest developments in law and legal practice. These events are SLTC’s efforts to reach out to the local community and build legal awareness.

RESEARCH SERVICES

Research services are undertaken in specific areas of law for any organization. Including areas such as Gulf Cooperation Council regulations, bilateral and free trade agreements and Omani laws and regulations.

CONFERENCES

SLTC organizes Legal Conferences or Symposia on themes of legal importance to the public and private sectors and invites local and international experts to present their papers.

PARALEGAL STUDEIS

The ParaLegal Studies Program (PSP) is the first program specializing in training paralegals, with a duration of three years. It is academically endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in England and Wales (CILEx) and is licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in accordance with the National Framework for Academic Qualifications.
